Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a practice of traditional Chinese medicine based on the energy of 12 meridians that compose it, which has reached a high degree of penetration in the West.
The treatment consists of inserting sterile acupuncture needles into the skin, which are very thin, with a plastic handle and sealed in individual blisters, being of a single-use. The human body, in fact, is covered with nerve endings, so it is normal for contact with a needle to cause some kind of physiological reaction, acupuncture that follows the traditional concept of meridians (energy channels that would circulate through the body human) has some kind of medical foundation.

Traditional medicine is linked to some of the most important pillars of Chinese philosophy, in particular, the Qì (every living being is defined by this invisible vital energy), the doctrine of Yin and Yang (each entity is mutable and brings its origin of the opposite energies in which the Qì differs) and of the Five Elements (the universe is made up of five fundamental states that change among themselves according to specific relationships).
Applying these philosophical concepts to the cure of the human body, diseases would simply be the result of an imbalance, a lack of harmony between energies thanks to which, according to traditional Chinese medicine, we exist. Of course, none of these precepts is minimally acceptable by modern medical science, born in the mid-nineteenth century with germ theory and long before the ‘evil Big Pharma’ arrived.
Results to be expected
Acupuncture is a method of natural health regulation, without side effects, that works by restoring the lost balance of the body step by step. This treatment is gaining recognition in Western hospitals due to its results, in particular, in the mitigation of digestive discomforts. such as nausea, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation and bloating. If done correctly, acupuncture even helps stimulate the intestinal tract to expel toxins.
Acupuncture seems to facilitate the opening of elimination pathways. The application of slightly hot moxa ("moxabustión") has shown to be beneficial since it expands the pores of the skin facilitating the release of toxins with natural perspiration. As a complement, the application of a smooth electric current through the meridians also helps clear the neural messenger pathways.
Areas to be treated
All areas of the body can be treated, except for the eyes and genital parts. Inserting the needles shows a slight puncture, which usually does not hurt. Some areas of the body such as the face, hands, and feet are more sensitive areas and where it is possible to feel small pain at the time of insertion. Acupuncture is compatible with all treatments of Western medicine. The frequency of acupuncture sessions varies depending on the disease to be treated. Acupuncture has no side effects.
