Liposuction
Remodel your figure easily and safely. Liposuction removes areas of localized fat and reduces the volume of body contours. Combined with liposculpture, the silhouette is restructured and regains its natural harmony.
Liposuction is a treatment aimed at correcting those areas of our body where we have clusters of localized fat, and that with a diet we cannot reduce. It is a very effective method to improve the figure and achieve a noticeable decrease in volume.
Dr. Felipe Galiano and his team will be by your side before, during and after the plastic surgery you have.
Reducing the effect and remodeling of the figure.
The surgical intervention lasts between 1 and 3 hours.
The final results are visible in 3 months.
After the intervention, there will be a rest of 24 hours.
What does the surgery consist of?
Liposuction consists of inserting very thin cannulas into the fat deposits located under the skin. Once inserted, they absorb excess fat from the area to be treated. In this way, we manage to model the area and improve the figure.
It is not a treatment for obesity.
Areas to be treated
Liposuction is especially recommended to remove localized fat from areas that are especially difficult to reduce, such as:
- flanks
- abdomen
- thighs
- dewlap
- arm
What age is indicated to do liposuction?
Once growth is complete, that is, from 16-17 years.
Is anesthesia used? Is hospitalization necessary?
Usually local or intradural anesthesia is used, and general anesthesia is not necessary except in large aspirations.
Once the intervention is determined, and after 6 hours of admission, the patient leaves the hospital, except in the case of Abdominal Liposuction, where he will have to be admitted for 12 hours.
How is the intervention?
A cannula is inserted through the skin through a small incision (about 2 millimeters). This incision is not made in the exact place of the aspiration, but in an inconspicuous place in order to camouflage the scar as best as possible. Numerous tunnels are made to extract the fat as uniformly as possible and so that no waves appear on the skin afterward.
Subsequently, an adhesive elastic bandage is applied (for 3-4 days approx.) To prevent edema and then a compression girdle that the patient will have to wear for approximately 1 month.
What complications can the intervention have?
The complications that can appear are:
- Edema: The patient must undergo lymphatic drainage for about 2 months, 2 times per (6-10 sessions are sufficient)
- Ecchymosis and bruising. They disappear without problems.
Will fat grow back in the same place?
Fat resection is final. The patient, if he does not take the necessary measures, will be able to gain weight again, but in a proportionate manner, leaving a more regular and uniform silhouette.
How long does it take to be able to lead a "normal" life?
Depending on the volume extracted and the activity of the patient, it can take between 2 and 7 days.
Indications:
Any type of unsightly localized fat (localized adiposis).
Age:
Growth finished (from 18 to 50 years approximately).
Previous tests:
Blood tests and electrocardiograms.
Preoperative:
No particular observation.
Intervention:
1 to 3 hours long depending on the area.
Anesthesia:
- Local
- General
- Epidural
Incisions:
Minimum (a few millimeters) and close to the areas to intervene.
Hospitalization:
It depends on the areas to be treated.
Postoperative:
- No major inconvenience
- Adhesive elastic bandage over the operated area (it is removed in about 4 days)
- Normally bruises appear in the operated areas.
- Points: Only one per incised area. They are removed in 5 - 7 days without discomfort.
Care:
- After 7 days you can shower or bathe (if the adhesive bandage has been removed)
- Complementary recovery treatment can be performed at 4 - 6 weeks.
- Bicycle moderately.
Results:
