Lipofilling - Fat Filler
Facial grooves that are created with age are due to loss of facial fat. Through the lipofilling or autologous fat filling (of oneself) we inject fat cells of the patient's own in certain areas, recovering the facial volume and obtaining a rejuvenating and natural result.
Lipofilling or fat filling is a facial surgery technique that allows us to recover the volume of areas of our face with the fat of our body extracted in liposuction. We extract fat mass from an area that abounds to put it where it has disappeared, thus obtaining a flattering effect twice.
Lipofilling restores the original content of these fatty accumulations that structure our face, especially in the area of ​​the cheekbones. It is also common in filling depressed skin scars. But we can also use it to improve the contour of the jaw or fill the temporal area. In addition, the fat we have injected improves the quality of the skin, thanks to its content in stem cells.
This intervention is carried out under local anesthesia, if a larger volume of fat is needed, sedation would be necessary. The fat is extracted from the areas where the patient has more adipose accumulation. The fat is centrifuged to separate the healthiest part of the tissue, which is injected into the face with tipless cannulas. It can be complemented with procedures such as blepharoplasty or facelift.

Areas to be treated:
Hands, breasts, buttocks, legs, scars or any other place on the body that requires an increase. In the facial treatment cheekbones, cheeks, temples, jaw and chin contour, brow arch and lip filler are treated.
How it is performed?
It is performed with local anesthesia, with or without sedation, or with general anesthesia depending on the volumes treated.
Fat removal is normally done in areas such as the belly and thighs or hips. It is intervened with special cannulas and with a very careful technique to avoid breaking the adipocytes.
The extracted fat undergoes a cleaning process to infiltrate viable adipocytes that may remain in the tissue, however, reabsorption of the infiltrated volume of between 30-40% is expected, so it is necessary to initially correct the volume infiltrate.
The filling is performed by infiltrating all the fat obtained with micro-cannulas until the desired result is achieved and projecting the volume to be reabsorbed. The scars to obtain and graft the fat is practically imperceptible.
First visit:
A first visit with the surgeon is necessary to assess the area to be treated and if this intervention is the most appropriate for the patient.
Duration of the intervention:
One or two lipofilling sessions are necessary for cosmetic procedures, and their duration can vary between 45 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the volume of fat to be processed and transferred.
Durability over time:
Once grafted and after spending the first 2 to 3 months in which the amount of adipocytes that are fixed to the new bed stabilizes, they will react like any other fat cell in your body. This means that they will increase in size if you gain weight and will decrease if you lose weight.
Inconvenience:
Minimal discomfort during fat extraction and implantation, when the procedure is performed under local anesthesia.
Recovery:
Once the procedure is finished, the area that has been grafted becomes inflamed and usually presents bruises that disappear after a few days. The final result will be visible after 3 months. And if necessary, the need to plan a repeat treatment will be considered.
